Its not bad since 2010

It got better, not great, but better.

If you want something great pick either Eset NOD32 or Kaspersky Internet Security. I've heard bitdefender free is good, but I don't know what features it comes with.

Go with ESET NOD32 or Smart Security. You can get keys through "grey market" sites very inexpensively. I got 2 pcs with one year for about $12.

clearly it's gentoo.

....or it would be common sense and malwarebytes but apparently malwarebytes is shit now, forget why.
>>
uBlock Origin + windows firewall + not using admin account for browsing web + common sense

my gaymen rig is Windows 7 sp1, no antivirus or updates slowing my shit down and it's clean as a whistle

Kaspersky vs bitdefender? GO!

Norton is fine but so is windoze defender. Best is common sense but you can't rely on that with other peoples' machines.
>>
Ive been doing adblockers and common sense for years now but I think I got a bad one. I have windows defender and it didnt find anything but Im still getting the internet redirects and some of my programs are running... oddly. What is the best antivirus for my situation if I must get one because I got one?

>>60668272
run adw and norton power eraser
>>
Microsoft security essentials or defender or whatever they're calling it these days. Just stick to the free Microsoft solution + ublock origin + common sense Pro elite.
>>
chkrootkit and rkhunter.
>>
>>60665205
I use windows defender and malwarebytes.
>>
>>60665205
Don't listen to anybody who tells you to use Windows Defender. They haven't done their research - it's getting shittier and shittier at detection, and it's not even the lightest weight out there.
