>spend hours writing a script
>finally finish it
>it works perfectly
>feel proud about it
>search google
>somebody's already made the same script, but better
So what? Improve your own and use the knowledge you picked up in the future.
you should still feel proud for having it done it on your own. also >>60636875
you shouldn't be so hard on yourself, anon.
What does your script do anon
>>60636914
shuts down computer in 2^n seconds where n is the number of scripts running
>>60636981
Why not wait for them to exit instead of an arbitrary wall time?

I get this all the time.
Their script is usually extremely complex and overkill for my needs, mine is only 50 lines of code.

Turns a string into Discord emojis

everyone's already done everything, the internet is a bitch like that. If your script is good, it's good. Someone else creating something similar doesn't take away from that.
Binding of Isaac started off as a original Legend of Zelda clone, nothing more. It evolved from there and went on to be one of the highest grossing games on steam. What if the creators had decided to just not make it, because of the similarities it shares with other games?
Just an example btw. I don't even own BoI because it's not my thing, but I respect the creators and the game for what it is.
