Have you gotten other vm's to work? You have to activate virtualization in your bios/uefi and it has to be supported by your cpu and secure boot can make a problem if I remember.
VirtualBox is literal dog shit.
VMware Workstation Player is completely free and a million times better when it comes to performance and not being slow shit.

I tried but there's no Hyper V on my laptop.
Does this mean my laptop can't run any VM or I have to install something?

Or just pirate Workstation Pro :^)

You do not need a virtual machine.
Most distributions have a live environment(use it from usb without installing)

hyper-v is microsoft's virtualisation platform, like virtualbox or vmware. These are software. You don't need hyper-v to use virtualbox.
you need to turn on "vt-x" or "virtualisation technology" in your bios. This is a hardware feature.

Wonder how no one noticed that.

I know, but I want to use the command line as I am doing a Linux tutorial and in live mode it does not have permission.
