I have more than 90 degrees.

You could say I'm a cute little boy.

Some people have to do the grunt work
>>
Technology is one of the fields you can get by with certs in.

>working as software engineer
>no bachelor's degree
>can't get passed entry-level positions

You can certainly get into the field, but to get passed a certain point you will need a degree.
I have 5 years of industry experience. If I had a degree, I would be in midrange positions making $20k more than I am now.

It's definitely recommended for SDE to get a bachelors of CS.

>>60617231
that's not an acute angle but
>>
>>60617448

>>
>>60617448
_\ is acute though.
>>

You can get into project management/coordination with minimal effort. You just need a few certs and the time to put into it. $60k and upwards in Burgerland.

I don't want to be a manager. I want to be a software engineer.
I like to make shit, not tell other people to make it.

Doesn't have a degree in System and Network Engineering
>>
>>60617563
if you don't upgrade to manager or at least head developer by age 30, you get ousted for new fresh faced graduates who are happy with no benefits and 40k a year.

>end up using 1/16th of the math and sciences have to learn to get said degree working help desk for a good 5 years until I'm told I'm underqualified because I spent the past 9 years jacking myself and others off over Linux with no actual experience working in other operating systems, which is a job requirement
>spend entirety of career taking welfare checks for my crippling "autism" while spending american tax dollars on anime figmas and posting on /g/ about how apple and microsoft are the jews killing the tech industry
>>
>>60617200

>working as a sysadmin
>doing freelance programming on the side
>completely incompetent but making mad money
It just works.
>>
Do you think employees really care about a software engineering degree over computer science? software eng is a year longer in Aus
>>
>>60618418
employers rather
>>
>>60618401
Sysadmin is the way to go, if you don't have a tech degree (or none at all, for that matter).
>>
I've no degree at all (Got certs though) and I qualify for several IT positions in state gov. Top end is like 50k a year. [mostly management]. atm I'm working for the state in totally non IT field (making less than 30k, but more than 25). I go for interview and if I land this IT job I'll be pulling around 40k a year + benefits/401k.
