remind me again why VLC is so great?
because you installed a fake version?
>>60592492
i installed the real version from videolabs fagget
it literally wont let you kill the process
I use the stable version and it works pretty well with MP3s
>>60592626
how do you STOP the player tho
>>60592632
idk, I did nothing fancy, didn't have to kill it.
>>60592411
>VLC devs just close the issue which has been present for almost half a decade
but all android applications have this "problem" then, don't they?
I guess google doesn't want to let n00bs decide what runs in background and what doesn't.
>>60592674
Vanilla Music has X button to close itself completely
AOKP comes with Ram shortcut to show what apps are running on background, might be in Lineage too
>>60592674
no there is a dev option to "kill immediately when closed"
but this anon explains it properly

Unrooted phone.
>>60592632
I just press Pause and remove it from notifications, that closes it for me
If you have a widget you can press the X button and it does the same thing, stops all playing and closes the player
A gripe I have with VLC for Android is that you can open all sorts of file types from its file manager, so if you try to open a .pdf or a .jpg it starts an endless loop that doesn't stop unless you kill the process
>>60592411
>remind me again why VLC is so great?
Why would we be reminding you of something that isn't true?
>>60592632
Open the task manager and swipe it right if you're so paranoid that the OS can't handle multitasking. Also kill yourself.
>>60592411
Honestly I don't even know what OP is complaining about.
Is it not playing the MP3? Is he just complaining because the application restarts after you kill it?

Does this work for anyone using LineageOS?
>>60592937
that literally doesnt work fagget >>60592741
>>60592999
Yep. Includes a messy internal audio mixer that clashes with Arise though, if you use that.
>>60593005
It literally works. I just did it.
>>60593371
were you playing a song and then tried to close the app?
because you cant
if you close or restart it will automatically start again and play
>>60593410
>were you playing a song
No, because I'm not a moron that plays music on a video player.
>>60593426
so thanks for not being on topic
>>60593410
Sounds like it starts the audio/playing service with START_STICKY which means that if the service dies without ending properly it gets restarted.
Basically it is expected behavior. Stop killing things just because you can. If you want to stop music playing then just stop it.
>>60593497
no other app acts like this
especially when the dev menu is enabled and apps are set to kill immediately
>>60593525
>no other app acts like this
You have tested every other app?
I've made use of START_STICKY in the past. Clearly you haven't used my apps.
>>60593454
Thanks for being a retard.
Pft, I was fucking right.
