The internet doesn't feel as big or endless anymore. It doesn't feel like it's a treasure trove of creativity and uniqueness.

Anything that isn't on a main site like reddit, twitter, facebook and even 4chan will never be found and because of that nobody ever makes their own sites or blogs anymore.

Just the same few websites.

over and over.

It doesn't matter if he or a gigantic group of people try to do something about it. The majority won't care if it isn't on Facebook or Twitter. If the content is that good, it'll be reposted there then it'll be soon forgotten.

Just wait until the Internet2 comes along and we're connecting to each other's routers via mesh networking and you can host your own big website and it'll be just as big and feasible as any other website on this new internet.

I can't imagine Google will be prominent, so there will be a lot of "word of mouth" for finding all of the best stuff. It'll be the wild west days of the internet all over again.

Growing up as a '95 kid, the internet when I was young (say 8-13) seemed so exciting, not just from the youth but because of the unique cultures that permeated all the little forums and such. Getting to run a public forum for a popular game at 14 was a huge deal to me, it felt important in that little sphere and I made connections with people I'm still friends with to this day.

Nowadays, what do you do if you're that kid? Moderate a subreddit? Own a discord? Hell I've done both, and it's just work, you're not meeting anyone or having the sort of unique connections and conversations you would a decade ago.

I realize I was on the tail end of it, but it still seemed like it was different and unique. I was the only person I knew who used Internet forums at all, it was like I was part of a hidden world. Now I'm shitposting on one of the biggest sites on the planet in bed on my phone, and every person I know and their mother has heard of this site or any other site I post on or could post on.

I don't really have a conclusion here, just suffering.

thefacebook was fine when it started. no worse than myspace. it was mobileposting that killed the internet. too many people that shouldn't be using it. you can see it in every cuckpost and praise kek redditpost. shadilay. entertainment news soon picked it up to help fill it's time slots, and it was all over from there. not even an afterglow
>>
>>60596440

>no wrose than myspace

Wrong. FB was the first social site to have a "serious" tone and lure adults and politicians into it. The first to ask for every little thing about you. The first to take away the ability to customize your page. The first to be run by a cuck. Etc. The internet went to shit as soon as cuckerberg jew'd his way into our internets.

It's ogre.

It's harmless as a form as rebellion, since it poses no danger to the structure of society. You should be able to tell that youth counter-culture is toothless when there are no social control mechanisms punishing you for being "rebellious".

The real act of rebellion in our time is not sharing the general pragmatic realist attitude that seems to be at the core of our current Zeitgeist. People get real upset when you don't play along with the post-truth social structure we've created to keep the different belief systems held across our society from collapsing in on themselves by devouring eachother.
>>
>>60597911

I miss the old days too guys, but the internet of our youth was a product of its infancy. It was always going to become what it is, and we can't rely on it to hit the spot any more.

Push for something new. Seek out stuff that makes you tingle like the internet once did. You're not alone.

Remember when nobody around you used the internet (or even computers) and that made you feel special? Pepperidge farm remembers.

Thinking back to those "magical early internet days" i can't say i've done anything that different or radical from what i am doing now. I just remember being more excited to do ordinary things like checking e-mail and posting on message boards. I guess because it was for the first time? It's hard to get excited over something you take for granted.

Names that are being addressed directly are said to be in the vocative case. When somebody is being spoken to directly, his/her name must be separated from the rest of the sentence with a comma.

Just that now, normies use the internet for Facebook/twitter/Jewtube etc.
>>
Oh look it's this thread again made by the same stupid piece of shit.

>The internet doesn't feel as big anymore

Try to understand this, I know it's hard for you. What happened was: you grew up

"This car seat isn't as big as when I was 4 years old"

Contrary to what spergs baking foot deep into their own feces say, web consolidation was the best possible thing to happen to the net at large, you've already stopped reading of course because you're a piece of shit still living in the 90s model where ultimate power was left in whoever started the site or channel. These result in 100% of people being banned 100% of the time.

Thanks to web consolidation you can't get banned because you accidentally defeat the moderator's shitty 10 year old argument. if you would actually read the old usenet postings you so feverently jack off to you would see they were the normies of times gone by, talking about the same nothing they are now. What is happening here is that only "famous" or interesting conversations were saved so you are falling for the same stupid shit where you think the 1950s were a really exciting time because you only watch fantasy movies and don't watch all the political drama and hate. It was around at the time as well.

Even if the above weren't true, you simply can't do anything about it so please stop making this thread. Or, you can go join some IRC circlejerk and jack off to postings you won't read. nostalgia is total cancer
>>
>>60592397
>>60590843
you don't know WHAT the fuck you're talking about. You're only "remembering" the good.

Growing up as a 90s kid and actually remembering message boards:
-Retarded admins who ban you over absolutely nothing.
-Admins put their girlfriends and other shitty acquaintances as power users who ban even more people over even less nothing.
-Entire sub forums exist to show off banned posts so admins can flaunt their e-dick.
-Thousands of pages of nothing posted in a line called "forum games" worse than any modern "bad" meme
-Forum drama
-10 page bitmap signatures
-internet speed in terms of bytes per second
-shitty forum software
-shitty web hosts
-Shitty admins telling you they need to get $1,000 in donations per month or else they keep turning the site off but somehow it is still hosted when they don't even come close
-shitty arguments like "we have discussed this before" without linking to those threads (because they've all been banned and deleted)
-no web standards
-IE had over 99% market share

Of course if we all just huddle together and pretend all that didn't exist then forums were soooo cool right. Let me repeat that again - you don't know SHIT about what you're talking about. This is what actually happens when "only nerdy white males" use the internet, they have to ban everyone and make it all garbage as they project their social inabilities to the site they ran. Best time for the internet is right now, you are just a bitter spent turd and you've given up
