I bought a Huawei P10 Plus, friend bought a Huawei Mate 9.

The reason I decided against the S8 was:
- It is a very, very expensive device
- It is literally no upgrade from the S7 series
- There are NO cases whatsoever that could EVER protect the phone. So buckle up and pay that insurance AND extra fee for replacements.
- Sub-par warranty.
- Fingerprint placement is impossible to reach, IRIS scanner sucks ass.
- Specs are S7-tier, except for the CPU.
- The resolution and everything is "toned down" out of the box. You even get a fat warning on max brightness. Seriously?
- The display can be red if you are unlucky.

So why the Huawei?
Well I knew fucking nothing about the brand. I saw the Lite models, they sucked.
Then I learned about these. And fuck they are godlike.

The Note 5 also sucks, the Note 7 could have been one GOAT device once again.

It is my first Huawei phone, never used them, but I could not be happier with them.
I checked the competition. Blackberry had shit specs (and it's always dying.) LG had shit specs (and no removable battery). Sony on bigger form factor looks and feels like a fucking brick (with shit specs and ultra-high price). Then there is the iPhone which costs almost twice as much. OnePlus has great specs, but fucking horrible, shit-tier warranty. And some cobbled together vomit OS by some XDA fucktards. ("BUGS?! YOU TELL ME!" Fuck you.)

Not really. The Themes are better, I admit. But the Samsung Store is always half-dead and might die from one day to another.
Water resistance maybe, but as I said warranty is gone if you ever manage to get water inside, so it is a fucking risky thing to do.
