What's the best laptop I can get for around $200? I need one for school.
Be more specific OP.
What i recomend you is to avoid HP at all cost.
Not op, but jumping off his thread, is the HP 14 laptop with AMD E2-7110 any good? Also looking for a new basic laptop for around $200, something to be used for web browsing, email, youtube and maybe netflix. Ideally, the less manufacturer bloatware, the better. Storage isn't a huge issue, but I'm not too familiar with low end cpus.

Need to run some basic engineering software for school. Prefer Windows. A decent battery would be good.
Upgradable RAM necessary

Don't listen to this fag. Consumer-grade laptops from any company are shit. HP Elitebooks and the premium laptops are fairly good, but come with a high price. I suggest a used ThinkPad (check /g/tpg) or a chromebook and install Compton to make it a Linux machine.

Used Thinkpads are generally cheap and durable. My T410 did me well during HS, with the exception of battery life (Only needed it for half the day anyways).

save yourself the trouble and just drop out now

Buy a dell xps poorfag.

get a thinkpad on craigslist for $200
Install linux. If you have to do projects (you won't have to do them nearly as much as you think) just use the computer lab or run though a VM

any used dell latittude, thinkpad or hp elitebook.

Honestly at that price point and those requirements you might as well just use school computers if they offer it.
Otherwise if you don't mind built in RAM (probably) and a 100 price boost, get an Acer Chromebook 14 and slap Gallium OS on that shit.
