Im planning on upgrading my current PC and moving it all into a SFF case.
Currently have a coolermaster HAF 932 with a i7 [email protected] and a 980ti.
Thinking about getting this FD core 500 and putting upgrading ram mobo and cpu to a 7700k and overclocking that a bit.
Is overclocking in a SFF a bad idea?
My temps are great right now with a coolermaster nepton 280l with noctua fans.
Are there any other SFF cases that are better than this one?
Ive looked at dancase but they arent out yet and also considered the node 202 but it doesnt support 3.5" drives or my 280l radiator.
tldr;
Need a SFF case that supports 2.5" and 3.5" hard drives aswell as a 280mm radiator (supporting a normal psu would save me some money aswell)

Most SFF cases support only one of maybe two of those requirements. The Nano S is the only one that I can think of that matches all three. The NCASE m1 also supports those features, but you will not be able to OC with it though.

shit the NCASE m1 looks nice as fuck but its pretty expensive and only supports 240mm rads but not 280mm
man i love the dimensions of both the dancase a4 and NCASE m1
they seems to be the only cases with these perfect dimesions
the core 500 is the closes but its got a sidways motherboard making its pretty wide but short atleast
any other similarly dimensioned cases out there i have yet to see?
how about this phanteks enthoo evolv

its really close to the from factor i want and supports everything i want besides 2 2.5" slots but ill make it work
what games do you most play my sir?

what is this mid-evil knight meme?
another question i have it how much i could sell my old parts for
ill have after the upgrade:
>cooler master HAF 932
>gigabyte z97x ud5h
>ripjaw 4x4gb ddr3 ram (didnt anticipate being restricted down to 2 ram slots down the line when i bought this)
>i7 4790k capable of clocking to 4.6ghz
>corsair 750m psu IF i get an sfx psu
do you think i could get atleast $1000 for it
or should i save up and upgrade from my 980ti and put that into it and complete it and sell it for close to $2000
>>60527475
Why the hell are you even selling your 4790k? It will be FUCKALL of an upgrade, you're just throwing money away.
>>60527599
hmm looking at benchmarks i guess it really isnt
i was thinking since its 3 gens behind that it would be substantial enough to warrant it but it really isnt that much
but isnt finding an lga1150 mITX mobo going to be hard this late?
isnt the 4000 series the last one that used it?
finding ddr3 ram wont be hard tho

Google around. I bought an i7 3770 and managed to find itx mobos for it on fucking brazil last year, you first world folks could definitely find it easily. What do you use your PC for? Also, real talk, stop thinking on raw numbers but rather what you actually need and use. I die a little inside everytime I see a guy upgrading his CPU because now he's up to 250 fps from 180 on his 60hz monitor. The 4790k is still a beast. There's a reason people with sandy bridge hardly even bother upgrading because it simply isn't worth it.
>>60527646
Most people don't even need ITX. It's okay if you're starting new, but you already have a decent rig.

Also, I'd grab the case in your OP, it's a really great and small case. I have the coolermaster elite 130, which is pretty much a poorfag version of it but it has about the same size and it's amazing having a small strong pc that you can easily take anywhere effortlessly. And yes, you can overclock on your sff PSU. People greatly overestimate their PSU needs and as long as you have room for it, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to OC.

I got the ncase m1. Really nice case. I got a air cooler from noctua with the old nh-c14 cooler like pic. I turned the PSU and fitted both fans in. Cooling is great got a nice OC. Really silent. Only downside I can't control the fan speed on those 3 pin fans..

>check newegg
>only refurbished 1150 mobos available
>post saying itll be hard
>check ncix

>well fuck me then
i mostly game on my computer
i wasnt necessarily gunning for the 7700k because it had a bigger number than my current one
it was mostly because i thought it would be too much trouble to find a 1150 mobo and said hey why not upgrade
i really shoulda looked at the data first
>>60527721
i dont know what you are trying to say
>>60527752
yeah when searching around looking at all the options i keep coming back to the core 500
it would just fit so nicely on my desk unlike most others
its wide but its actually short enough to clear my monitors so the width isnt that bad
the only thing is my fat ass speaker sittin there(pic related) but it can be scooted over a few inches or stacked on top of the computer
side note: are there any good clamp to desk speaker stands?
sorta like a monitor mount?
would help my shit out so much
>>60527762
man i fucking love what that case offers
but it doesnt support my 280mm rad
which i really want to keep
>>60527670
it's easier to find old parts outside the first world
retailers dump everything here as soon as new shit releases and older stuff is hard to find even on ebay and the like
t. 3770k owner with dying motherboard
>>60527670
t. i7 3770k, probably won't upgrade in 5 years unless substantial breakthroughs are made (ayyylmaoo)
>>60525741
I have that case. It has lots of ventilation you should be fine. I will say due to the holes you'll hear everything inside. I had been using a p180 for like 15 years which is obviously a lot quieter. My build isn't very loud though so it's not a problem.
