I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux,
is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux.
Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component

then use Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB.
It stays on build 1607 (it will never change) and only gets security updates for 10+ years.
also no cortana, or apps by default. it's good, but I personally wouldn't use it.

And you HAVE TO get updates when running Windows, given that a new Windows exploit has been coming out on a weekly basis lately. And Windows 10 isn't really a good OS to begin with, even without the botnet stuff.
