This really doesn't actually run that well once you sort

This really doesn't actually run that well once you sort the fan speeds out. I'm running 4.8GHz @ 1.35V, and it never peaks over 85c (it's save under 100c). I'm not even running liquid cooling.

Can we kill the 7700k runs hot meme?

I'll be sure to avoid it then. Thanks OP
>>
>>60492162
Summer is coming.

I mean that literally. Enjoy your toasty room, bro.
>>
>>60492162
You won the silicon lottery, don't make others play though, just because you got a lucky chip.
>>
>>60492162

How the fuck is that temp acceptable to you?

I am in no way a fanboy and I realize AMDs shortcomings but in the few AMD processors I have had none of them have hit over 52c under 100% load for hours of gaming. On my Arctic Cooling 64 or my Corsair H80i.

The real freak fanboys will come out of nowhere saying AMD runs hot but I have never found this to be the case where as Intel guys will be happy with 70c-80c. That is crazy to me.
>>
>>60492467
Nothing wrong with 70c with a heavy load. My 6700k sits at 70c during a pass of x264.

That temp is perfectly acceptable, just because you have autism and/or OCD and you feel the need to never reach above 60c doesn't mean that's how the chip is designed.
>>
>>60492467
fx and phenoms were literal housefires.
>>
>>60492467
My R5 1600 gets to 67ºC on benches at 3.6GHz with stock cooler. During games and with 8 MMO bots farming in the background, it hovers around 60-62ºC, while pulling about 60W total.
Actually amazed at how efficient and cool these chips are.
>>
smug 4670k at 4.6Ghz here, H100i keeps it under 70c with fans at 500rpm
>>
>>60492467
My old Phenom II 965 (which I replaced with a 50% discounted 7700K) was constantly over 80 degrees when doing anything that required power. And that was with a 202 evo and arctic silver 5 paste.
>>
>>60492839
I ran my 955 for 8 years on the stock cooler, which I poked with q tips and alcohol twice during that period. At the end of its life it was hitting about 62C under full load. Not bad at all.
>>
>>60492882
I might have lost the silicon lottery. Or maybe you won it.

>>
>>60492839
That phenom has a 140watt TDP though.
>>
>>60492467
My 3570k usually runs at 80-90 celsius

I can't wait to switch over to amd
>>
>>60492569
Not true. I had an FX overclocked with air cooling never got above 40c.
>>

At what point do intel shills become self aware?
>>
>>60492162
run aida64 FPU benchmarks
>>
>>60492569
FX was fine as long as you weren't running the crazy-ass 5GHz ones.

you guys need to get some liquid cooling
>>
>>60492162

Wtf is wrong witjh 7 series Intel chips? They are literally Skylake with higher clocks but they have worse temps. compared to Skylake.

Is Kaby Intel's Bulldozer?
>>
>>60495608

because people think they can run these intense chips at high clocks/voltages without good cooling. air cooling won't do shit for these things, they need a better way to transfer heat.

if you're running a 7700k at 5.0ghz on an air cooler, expect to hit 80c
>>
>>60495622
more like 1.45V with 100C 50% thermal throtling LMAO
>>
>>60492839
that's absolutely not an okay temp for deneb.

>>60492947

there's other factors than that like how the heat is dissipated, that's why bulldozer temps were lower despite higher tdp's than intel even with equal cooling, much larger dies = much more distributed heat but much more overall; if you have twice the die size you cut the temps almost in half

>>60492162
No one believes you until you post some proof.

>meanwhile amd can't even overclock past 4.1ghz without hitting the silicon lottery, there is no 5ghz in sight

LUL

No liquid cooler even comes close to the cooling power of the NH-D15.

No San Ace fans to OC to 5.3ghz?

>>
>>60498113
Yes, let's just completely overlook the original thread on Intel's website where people couldn't even get over 4.7 GHz. Losing the silicon lottery sucks no matter which side you're on. https://communities.intel.com/message/472112#472112

Also, I really can't wait for coffee lake-S to come out and hear the braying and neighing of intel fanboys when they realize their shiny new 6 core is an OCing dog with lower stock clocks that hits thermal limits almost as hard as Ryzen's voltage limits.

What's weird is how cool Skylake runs. I have a 6600K at 1.4 on air and it runs great. Considering a 6700K upgrade since I've heard the 7700K has thermal issues.
>>
>>60498994
OCing ryzen or any AMD chip voids warranty as well. Nice try but in future try not to show how ignorant you are in the topic discussed.
