If you plan on using Tor to do something illegal, I recommend a Librebooted laptop without a hard drive. Live boot Tails from a CD/DVD or a flash drive. Don't use your home internet connection. Go to a coffee shop or something. If there are webcams or microphones in the laptop, disconnect them by taking the machine apart and unplugging those devices.
