I extremely like using Debian on my VPS, it's very comfy for the required tasks. But for general use there is literally no better OS than Windows 10 LTSB, Visual Studio, Photoshop, C# (.net core/standard is really cute, but it's a bit lacking at the moment).

The whole appeal of iMessage is that the platform is so popular. Yes, you can obviously use your phone. We're talking about convenience. It's easier to type on a laptop, you can more readily search for things, and you can use your phone for other things (like talking) while doing so.

I used to be a Linuxfag also but I went back about a year ago with windows 7 and I've discovered that windows is just a lot more smooth for my workflow. It's not that I'm too lazy for Linux or stupid, but when I have a project its nice to not have to spend 15 minutes looking for a workaround for my distro or muck around installing something that isn't from a package manager.

I use linux and I like it a lot but I don't see the point of hating windows or its users. I use windows sometimes. There are reasons it's a standard in office networks. It's not because of some superiority as an os. It follows an American job strata infrastructure that's part of the culture. You buy and the product sucks so you need services etc. If you don't participate, people give you wierd looks, but that's part of the charm for me. If you ride a bike or walk to work you are in the minority, particularly if you do it by choice and not for economic reasons. If you don't have money and have to ride a bike you might get the blues sometimes even though it's actually pretty fun to ride a bike. Package management may finally become actually sane on Windows. If not by the Windows Store, there could be good third party package managers because the new Unified Apps are no longer a legacy mess of files and registry settings, but a modern, more sane mess of files and registry settings. The windows 10 UI is honestly just beautiful (and becoming better), and microsoft has realized to stop charging money from users who want a clean install or built their own machine (lol it runs fine without activation). And it runs as well as ever in a virtual machine for us Linux users. Or, if you're brave, it even runs GNU userspace software natively. I'd honestly give it a 10/10 score and recommend to others if it became open source (not necessarily free software but at least so that we could see and build the full source code and validate builds).

A motorola modem driver literally made unbootable my system. On linux, it just worked like charm. The driver api is better on windows 10, but it doesn't a deal breaker for me as it never caused an epic data loss.

Ouch, the truth hurts. I was using linux between 07-09 mostly because I fucking hated vista and I was curious to try something new. The only game I played at the time was WoW and it ran okay in wine. Eventually switched back to Windows with 7 and haven't looked back. Sure, it was fun doing things manually and it was a learning experience but I needed something reliable for school and work without having to go through hoops to make shit work. Although I could switch back to linux now, I'm too lazy to do so. Why would I? I'm already passed my l33th4xx0r phase and could care less. I already have good security habits and don't look for shady shit. If i wanted to do shady shit, I can just use a throwaway laptop running on a live usb stick as I leech internet from somewhere behind 2 vpns.

I have been using Linux for classes for 4 yers and barely had any problem, just had to dual boot for soem concrete programs like auto-cad, and Adobe suit programs, (Notice that those programs are CPU heavy ones), with other programs native linux substitutes and in thwe very last case wine (which works pretty awesome nowadays), so no reason to use Windows.

I grew out of Linux too, I used it from 07 until 14 and it actually made my life worse during that time, I started obsessing over compiling and making everything perfect. My final year of college I had only 40% attendance because I would stay home recompiling libreoffice which took 6 hours on my core2 machine with the fear it may not compile all the way whilst I was out.

The only reason I ended up going back to Windows (8.1) was because my PC died and the laptop I bought couldn't install even Ubuntu or Fedora because it didn't recognise my touchpad or usb3 ports.

After a few months of using Windows and using a VM to obsess I started getting bored since it was less convenient using a VM and started going out more because I was bored with my computer and I don't really like games so I managed to loose a load of weight to get my ideal BMI and now I feel better than ever.

Perhaps I have some kind of autism that Linux triggered in to action but stopping using it is the best thing that happened in my life the past 10 years.
