What kind of sound setup does /g/ have?

i currently have pic related. theyre the logitech Z313's. Theyre pretty good for my needs, but ive been thinking about upgrading to the Edifier R1280DB's from massdrop. im by no means an audiophile so i was wondering if the difference would be really noticeable or if im just wasting money?

if not the Edifier R1280DB's whatre some good speakers for around the same price point? ($99 US)

Some Crappy Behringer MS40 for Front left/right, and just recently I upgraded my surround channels into A couple of 6ohms 50w 3" AIWA with a T2020A lepai amp.

I also use a crappy Bomber 5" subwoofer So I'm into a 4.1 system.

I tried setting a center channel, but couldn't make it sound any good, probably because of placement behind the display and also timber differences from the MS40. I plan on getting a UHD 40 inches television as a monitor and upgrading my whole setup but I'm quite happy with it so far.

That probably sound awful. Buy proper vintage wood speakers and set it up with a custom amp, you will get some awsome for aroudn 200 bucks which would be 10 times better than some brand new 10 times more expensive set up.

Pic related, this is what I use.

don't worry, i'm moving out mothers basement in 2 weeks and will finally bring my speakers to breath and shine, after 3 years of loving them, i will love them even more after the treatment.

>>
>>60415042
>oh my god.. aren't those the most artificial subwoofer cans you can get?
Yeah, they are very specialised headphones.
Without the EQ they are no good, but with EQ they are a riot, the bass hits harder than anything else I've tried and mids/uppers are tolerable, they'll never be as good as my HD600s for vocals or classical, ie more natural sounding music but they mostly get used for games & electronic/bass orientated music and regularly put a shit eating grin on my face when the bass drops.

I have edifiers r1600tiii. Best computer speakers I have personally owned. Obviously nowhere close good monitors/bookshelves or even entry level ($100-150) headphones, but leagues apart from it's direct competitors. Compared to logikeks they sound much more natural, no overblown bass, kinda analytical, monitor-like sound signature. For some people lows might be lacking.
All in all I consider edifier to be very solid brand and can recommend if you are on a budget.

HD600 and going to pull a trigger soon on those cute boxes. I can order a demo of them for few weeks for around 30 euros which I am likely to do to compare to JBL 305, but those cute lil things go deeper and more importantly are the smallest speakers I could ever find. Not cheap tho, 600 euro a pair, but people say they sound good and measured good, just don't go ultra loud which won't matter for me since I listen on medium levels mostly and will use them in near field.132×132×202mm, only some genelecs can compare and none of them go anywhere deep.
>>
>>60419104
>600 euro a pair
Holy shit, why would you do this
>>
>>60419201
Because I can and I care. Saved money from a past job and wanted to buy a pair of bookshelves. I have this philosophy for things, I would rather spend some good money on something nice that will last me a lifetime, then get some cheap shit that I would want to upgrade later on. I don't have an upgrade fenzy over tech, when I buy those speakers they will stay with me till they stop working or I get a well paid job, my own house and then start thinking about tower speakers MAYBE. There are JBL 305, but they are much, much bigger and something about their highs puts me off. Those are the perfect fit for my desk without making it overcrowded. And they go 10 Hz deeper which I am curious to hear.

DESU it's a Europe with it's gay VAT and taxes, more specifically Germany. It's just ticks all boxes for me, and since I am a lazy/messy fuck, less is more for me. I would definitely audition it tho, I have little to no experience with speakers, so no point of reference, and audio world is very dependant on one's tastes. People recommended X2 and I took them off in 10 seconds from my head after hearing them. I wish those bookshelves would cost 500 euros like the previous a version, but internals were changed completely and c-3 goes louder than previous c-2 with overall improved sound, judging from forum post supplied by some measures. 400 euros and I would be instantly sold, but knowing that those are made in Germany and googling their parts, around 100 euros for woofer and a tweeter for one pair not counting enclosure and an amp since they are active, makes a sense out of their price. I am yet to hear them, but with JBL 305 being considered a kings of a value going here for around 300 euros a pair, I suppose that since C-Box 3 is much smaller and goes down deeper it's value is about 400 euros with me paying a 200 premium that I don't feel that bad about. I have high hopes but yet to hear them, I need to move to a new flat first tho.

>I don't mean to be a downer, I know sometimes spending that much is necessary to get exactly what you want, but definitely do the demo first.
I don't blame you and auditioning is important as I mentioned. But I guess I am really an audiopfool since none of who I know would dare to spend more than 200 euros on audio.

>>60419639
