I'm trying to add a new mode to xrandr.
I can create it, but when i try to add it to my display, i get:X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 140 (RANDR)
Minor opcode of failed request: 18 (RRAddOutputMode)
Serial number of failed request: 30
Current serial number in output stream: 31
Before, I didsudo xrandr --newmode "1024x768_60.00" 63.50 1024 1072 1176 1328 768 771 775 798 -hsync +vsync
And then this line gives me the error:
sudo xrandr --addmode LVDS1 "1024x768_60.00"
I'm not sure what's happening, could i get some help? I already tried my luck with /sqt/ and /fglt/
post xorg log

Should I upload it somewhere?

Here, that's what i found on /var/log/Xorg.0.log, hope that's what you meant
>>60389381
are you sure the display is capable of 1024x768?
it appears to be a ~12" lenovo ideapad, which is a netbook. 1024x600 might be it's native (therefore maximum) resolution
>>60389579
Yes, that's indeed its maximum resolution, but when I was on Windows I was able to "force" this resolution on this same laptop, isn't it possible to add a custom display?
>>60389886
not sure about doing "virtual" resolutions, that'd probably need to be supported by the driver
>>60389909
Huh, but I remember actually achieving it, I don't remember if it was on mint or Ubuntu
>>60389961
maybe try this

Thank you anon, this did the trick, looks a bit too squashed but it's something
>>60390500
of course it's going to look squashed, it's a different ratio
to keep the same ratio, you'll want 1311x768 (or with a small error, instead use the more common 1366x768)
