I don't know if I would consider this a win for the anime industry, it is a piracy site after all. Every torrent is money potentially lost for the studios. People usually don't pay for things they can otherwise get for free, especially if they already have it.

90% of the anime aren't even licensed. This is worse than the pirating question. If it is a recording straight from Japan services, importing it with subs is about as grey area as it gets. Japan isn't airing to Canada, so it's not losing a piece of market, and the file transfer is magnitudes faster than the licensing paperwork to go through.

This is a Japan issue, and Japanese fans put up big money for support
