If I'm not mistaken, there was another recent exploit regarding Windows Defender or something like that. So essentially, people who learned their lesson and enabled updates make themselves vulnerable to another RCE in Microsoft's own software that's supposed to protect you from that shit (with a healthy dose of botnet). You couldn't make this shit up if you tried. I literally can't comprehend why anyone still uses shitblows.

No. You need to approve updates before they are downloaded.
If you are using Intel with ARC embedded processors or AMD psp you are already compromised on hardware level. It doesn`t matter if you are running GNU/Linux OS hard crypted if you are wide open at hdw level.
