Is there an Android app that can access SMB 2 or SMB 3 shares?
SMB 1 is old and insecure as fuck.

I'm using ES File Explorer but I'm not sure which SMB my server uses. It's a botnetty memory hog but it does its job. Does security matter so much when it's just in your local network, though?

ES File explorer does 2.0, Asus File Manager too.
If you want to fap to your stash of pics on samba share, Quickpic gallery also connects to Samba and is blazing fast - rendering thumbnails and actual photos.

just run an SFTP server instead

TC does SMB v1 only.

It finds the server, but it's asking me for username and password.
It shouldn't, on Windows PCs I don't have to use it and neither on Android with TC (with SMB 1).

Tried AndSMB?
The answer is always solid explorer
>>60366041
Yes, SMB1 only.
>>60365484
Oh. I have only password protected shares and it works with that.

Even my ISP is dropping incoming SMB packets before they reach my gateway router. That's why I was hosting a VPN whenever I wanted to use SMB remotely.
