i got some gay ass adware from a fake game trainer (yeah i know) and it took me a whole day to get it to fuck off. I ran every free antivirus I could get my greasy hands on and then had to manually delete all chrome data and a shit ton of files from various folders including my temp files and appdata folder, and finally it went away..

Am i still infected? Is it worth bothering about? I reinstall windows every 6 months anyway

Avira makes a linux boot disk that scans and removes windows viruses, even ones that whitelist themselves. It's free. Burn the .iso, boot the disk, scan the drives.
