MS doesn't understand functionality. It could be visually pleasing at a glance, it doesn't matter because it needs to work first and look good second.

Looking at this image, you have no dividers between text, so what you have here is 4 different sized text boxes in randomesque places.

The icons have the same problem, because they removed the dividers but kept the position of everything, it just looks like it's scattered at random. Like why is the " - [] X " in the top right isolated from the rest still? The window is all one color, no dividers anymore so why are some icons over there in a r shape, some top right? And then you've got another random icon just hanging out in the bottom left lulz.

I'm not even a designer. I'm literally just looking at this and I can tell it's bad.
