It's kind of all purpose. From browsing the web thru playing world of warcraft to running 10+ VMs in a virtual networking lab so I can practice AD + group policy things.

It's not a branded workstation if you meant that, I built it myself.

Single channel because my motherboard didn't support my processor running dual channel without a bios upgrade.

Well, it didn't POST unless I put the RAM into slot 1 and 2, instead of 1 and 3*, and on their website it said they started supporting the 7700k on their 6XX version bios, while it ships with a 5XX version bios, so I assumed that's what it was.
Maybe saying that it that way was a bit zealous

*Enabling XMP didn't fix this, and I haven't bothered to test it since the bios update
