This kind of excuse will keep popping up unless Linus or somebody else will make a stand and says: "Yes. We are responsible."
Linux isnt technically completely free software. Yes, it doesn't cost any money. But time is money too, so what is the real cost? I think that should be considered before we simply tell people "hey linux is free as in beer!"

Why cant linux devs make a GUI framework that works across all distros? That is literally in their power: Offer a KERNEL api that works across all distros by the simple fact that it's a kernel graphics api, so everyone will have it.
I'm going to ask linus why he doesnt add a gui framework to the kernel.
The general linux response seems to be "do a pull request lol". Such a toxic response.

9 out of 10 times, when i create a bug they just say "wont fix, this is intended / too much work / we dont care"
linux is not just a kernel, it's a community
The problem is that linux issues dont get solved at all in a satisfactory manner for the user.
They should care about the product that USES their kernel too, because ultimately it is their problem when nobody ends up using linux as a kernel anymore
android had the negative effect that linux devs can now keep pointing fingers and say "see: it's popular somewhere so that means we are doing okay!"

You're wasting your time. There's a reason Linux still has 2% desktop marketshare.
>>
>>60279824
because it's a kernel you fucking numbskull

would you like the government to tell you what color you have to paint your house?
>>
A kernel graphics api is never going to happen. By your logic why not add a browser to the kernel? Or media player? Or pid 1. It's just that this is not its job.

People like you, who fail to understand the Linux operating system, should not be allowed to post.

here are my top 2 reasons
>every single desktop environment sucks: gnome/cinnamon is slow, kde is inconsistent and looks like a fisher-price toy, everything else is from another decade
