>4 year old phone still working perfectly
I miss having a new phone.

post blinys
/g/ built me a computer in 2006 which still works perfectly. I cannot bring myself to replace it as my home PC.
Fuck you /g/. Generations of hardware have come and gone and I've not gotten to enjoy any of it. No joy of unboxing new desktop components. No gloating over my "rig." Just this 10 and change year old box.
>my 70 dollar phone is pretty shitty but does exactly what I need it to do so its not a problem
I want a cool new fast phone just to have
>>60265429
>which still works perfectly
that just means you don't use it for anything
I know that feeling. What you need to do is buy a new low end phone each year. Make a budget of 100-200 dollars. The void in your heart will be full for another year.

good consumer

If he had a Core 2 Duo and a GeForce 8800 under the hood that thing will still do most everything today
>>60266052
yes, if you only use it for web browsing

Or coding, or photoshop, or media playback, or League of Legends/Team Fortress 2/Skyrim/CSGO/DOTA/Minecraft like 95% of "PC Gamers" actually play
>>60265651
I'm going to start doing this now, probably. I think budget phones are way more comfy to use than "premium" phones with metal and glass builds and fuckhuge screens and shit, and you don't have to treat them with kid gloves since they're not fashion accessories. I have a Oneplus 3 and I almost liked using my Galaxy S3 more, and I'm almost thinking about selling this and getting a Moto G5 or something similar.

>95% of what "PC Gamers" play
Lol try again nerd. PC gamers only benchmark shit over and over.
Honestly I just buy new stuff sometimes because I can or getting the new thing will only cost me pennies on the dollar out of pocket. I.e. I sold my 6700k/z170 rog board and got an r7-1700X/X370 rog board in its place for only $50 out of pocket.
Same with my phone. I sold off some of my old PC parts I had sitting in the closet collecting dust (misc. Sized hard drives, fans, gigabit pcie cards, etc) and bought an LG V10 outright for $350 new. It's not that I don't have money to throw around, I just feel bad for spending said money for no reason.
>still going to be getting the Note 8 though more than likely if the specs sheet leak is on point.
>>60265398
Enjoy
>>60266087
literally half of those games won't get anything past 5 frames a second on minimum with an 8800 faggot
you're seriously overestimating a gpu's lifespan
>>60266087
>media playback
yes, because anything can do that
that's why people hook up rasperry pi's to TVs
>coding
the compiling will take forever
>photoshop
you serious?
you're going to run out of RAM really quickly, if you can even boot into it with a fucking core 2 duo

>4th gen i5's
you were supposed to be telling me how you don't need to upgrade
>>60266247
You act like photoshop is a new thing that only existed after the core 2 days.
If you where using photoshop back then you can still photoshop now, you may not be able to edit 50 megapixel photos but if your just doctoring some random photos every now an d then a core 2 duo is fine
One plus one owner here. I want to get rid of this shit but it works so nicely still.
>>60266394
pretty sure that's the entire point you were even discussing with me, if you can upgrade the CPU, also upgrade the fucking GPU, instead of showcasing how an i5 with it's iGPU can play games
>>60266388
>doctoring some photos
i was thinking actually using photoshop for it's intended purpose instead of red eye correction but whatever floats your boat
>>60266116
Also check out Xiaomi phones. There's a reason /csg/ shills the fuck out of them.
>>60266441
An i5 with a 8800 is not going to have higher gaming performance than a Core 2 Duo with an 8800.
Do you even know what a bottleneck is you fucking retard?
Aside from the fact that no CPU at all was mentioned in >>60266209
>$900 phone
>already compromised
Never again. Expensive gadgets are a liability

Aside from the fact that those are two different games (albeit on the same engine), they're also both over the same range of 45 to 70fps
