seems pretty lame of intel to not have these work with the high end processors 6900-6950. When they dont sell any 7th generation prosumer processors.

why buy it? what I just bought 6900k or 6950k is outdated since its 6th generation?

Keep in mind they only hve 8-10 cores unlike the flagship new 7th gen which will have 12 cores so im stuck with 8 cores now.

The intel optane is mainly meant as a cache for spinning rust drives.

If you are already using an SSD as a boot disk the benefits are negligible.

I dunno it uses I assume the same learning tech as SRT meaning it learns with the user what apps are accessed to keep them in cache. That said an OS on a SSD and gaming say from a HHD might see a speedup but doesnt matter to me, for some strange reason it only works on 7th generation as if requires some magic technology in the 7th that isnt in the 6th even on HEDT which I cant imagine what that is since nothing different is listed to allow specific generational support for optane.
