Vega is likely to do 60 fps minimum in lots of games.
That's the same thing I've been waiting to upgrade for, OP. Still on a 7970 since it plays everything at 1920x1200 fine. Though some unoptimized shit like GR wildlands I do have to drop settings for. But I don't play that awful shit anyway.

They show it doing 60fps minimum at 4k ultra on SWBF in December, whereas the GTX 1080 drops down to the low 40s.

I wouldn't be surprised if the huge Navi card in probably 2019 won't do 120+ fps 4k minimum in most games, too.
Maybe Volta will beat AMD to that distributed die/MCM tech for consumers first, though I highly doubt it.
