>buy GTX1080 ti
>computer wont boot unless I unplug DP monitor
>wait until windows boots up
>then plug in monitor
This is the power of Nvidia.
>>60250203
that sounds more like a win 10 creator update error, get rid of that bro
>>60250203
just try the hdmi then
>>60250335
HDMI isnt able to output 2k @165z. >>60250270
Tried it on a fresh install of windows. Same problem. Its a known issue with nvidia cards and high res monitors that doesn't seem to be a consistent working solution.
>>60250399
if your fresh install includes the creator update which if you downloaded it then it does, your screwed :P
>>60250203
works on my machine :^)
DP has been kinda really shitty with Nvidia in recent years for whatever reason.
>>60250961
speaking of which, my fucking DP works 1/20 times
>144hz monitor
>forced to use 60hz
Fuck those kikes.
>>60250399
My GTX 1080 is plugged up to a 2k screen over DP and does not have this problem.
>>60251047
My GTX 1080 does not have this problem on a 144 Hz monitor over DP
My RX 480 doesn't have this problem.
>>60250203
>buy RX480
>reboot after Windows installs driver
>monitor not working
>take out card and uninstall the driver
>download the driver from AMD's website
>blue screen when driver install reaches 98%
>manually install the driver
>it works
>two weeks later garbage artifacts start appearing
>slowly but surely increases over the next couple of days
After accounting for the shipping and handling for returning the card I could have just gotten the 1080 instead of being a cheapstake.
1070 user running 144hz over displayport, are you guys sure your cables are up to standard?>>60250203
>>60250399
>>60250961
>>60250399
NVidia is nodrivers now, and AMD is housfire
Display port is a fucked standard in general. This shit is what happens when you have an active protocol instead of a passive.
I fucking loath HDCP and all the issues it creates, but I have to say I've had way more problems with display port than I ever have with HDMI.
If i turn on my computer after I turn on my monitor i get no picture. My monitor has to be off then I can boot my computer, wait a bit then turn on monitor. 1080ti here
>>60252899
>turning off your computer
>>60250203
I remember reading something in this weeks driver patch notes they fixed it?
