All new launched satellites are required to have a naturally decaying orbit, so the space junk issue shouldn't grow too much, especially in LEO. Geostationary orbit is more of an issue because it's so much further out and difficult to make decay quickly, but it's also dramatically more roomy than LEO.

As far as the batteries go, the design of the cells used in Teslas decay relatively slowly for lithium batteries (e.g. still retain 70%-80% capacity after 10 years of use). Also, Tesla is putting a huge chunk of funds into lithium cell recycling, with a goal of building new batteries almost entirely from recycled materials.

I just still think that whole Hyperloop thing is laughable... so many problems with it, where to begin.
