Alright I'm thinking of building my own desktop slowly. Question though I'm thinking of buying this graphics card.

I'm sure it would do it's job fine. But I'm not sure if I should wait and spend the extra 60 bucks for this card.

Is double the ddr5 worth the 60 bucks or should I just go with 4 gb? Also the radeon is crossfire ready if I ever wanted to throw in a second card later down the line for whatever reason.
I'm obviously a newb at this so any advice appreciated.

If you're going to slowly build a computer I suggest you invest in a high end CPU and motherboard. Those tend to be relevant longer than GPUs.
For instance a 2nd gen i7 is still a great CPU today whereas from the same year, a 580 ti is very much outdated and outclassed by very cheap contemporary cards.
I'm planning on buying a new motherboard and CPU so I could eventually do some over clocking. But for right now I was hoping to use my old mother board and cpu. My motherboard is this

and it's got the i7-3770 running at 3.4ghz or something.
but I was planning on buying these later.

I was thinking about buying the i7 but I've been hearing that the i5 can do just as well as the i7 in some cases and for me it's a 100 bucks cheaper.
The 480 is a much more powerful card and will work well for 1080p much longer. Imo is well with the 80 bucks. Vram is also not a good metric to go by for judging performance and you'll be better off looking up benchmarks on YouTube

The CPU and Mobo aren't compatible. I'd recommend going to PC part pucker and looking at other peoples builds. This is going to start a shit fest but I'd recommend getting a ryzen 1600 and a b350 Mobo. 6 cores instead of 4 and with pastor very nicely with a mid range gpu

Oh shit. I'm guessing that's what the i7 means in the title? I should have done some more looking I thought the i5 and the i7 were similar. I haven't looked into the ryzens much but I'll give them a look. But for a quick question can you overclock these? Or would you even need to?
>>60234675
Nevermind quick google took care of that. Doesn't seem like a bad choice the motherboard is a little cheaper but the cpu is a little more so it evens itself out. I wouldn't mind sticking with asus though if at all possible.
>>60234907
Asus makes b350 boards and I also like gigabyte. I own the ab350 gaming 3 and would recommend it should you decide to get ryzen. Asus is good too if you prefer

Asus is a shit company when it comes to customer service. Just something to keep in mind.
Any thoughts on the i7 980x extreme edition? It has six cores it's unlocked and it's only 200 bucks.
It's like 6 years old so good luck finding a board for it and it's inferior to the 1600 in every way
So far from what I've heard from reviews is that ryzens is that if I was planning on purchasing one is that I should wait for a while longer before buying one. Which is fine with me I was planning on waiting for a little while anyways. I'll still probably go with intel later anyways to be honest. Anyways I'm planning on going with the Radeon graphics card. Hopefully by going with the better card I won't have to upgrade sooner then later down the road. Thanks for the advice guys.
>>60234675
ryzen has made the entire intel lineup that isn't the pentium obsolete and worthless
>>60235157
its shit, the ryzen 1600 is the same price but way better
>>60235864
>pentium
Not Pentium, only i3 and i5.
There still no better alternative for G4560 at its price point, yet.

I'm dumb, ignored this post.

According to alot of the reviews and benchmarks I've been looking at, it to me seems like they're almost neck and neck. Ryzen 5 seems like it does better when it comes to designing and stuff. But then the i5 seems to do better on fps during most video games.
>>60235883
Yeah I found that out.
>>60235971
>But then the i5 seems to do better on fps during most video games.
Its neck to neck at high FPS but worst in low fps, that is the reason why every reviewers start praising R5 after saying R7 is a disappointment for a gaming right.
The only reason this happen is because i5 got less MT than i7.
>>60235911
and i7 and extreme edition
>>60235971
>to do better on fps during most video games.
no it doesnt, hence the OP that says the i5 is worthless
