ntel responds to i7-7700K high temperate issue, tells owners they shouldn't overclock the chips

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

HAHA INTEL BTFO RYZEN WINS AGA-

>stock clocked i7-7700K is still better than anything AMD has to offer overclocked

oh...
>>
>>60230549
I have one. They are hotter than skylake, but you can get to run they below 70c on 5ghz even on air provided you delid it.
Sure I delided it, no shame, it's a good processor but the main problem is not the Tim is the black glue that induces a gap between die and IHS.

I'm just waiting for a proper ryzen with decent pcie Lane count to make the switch.
>>
>>60230595
>implying 4 core 7700k is better than 8 core 1700 in any actual productivity use case.
Back to /v/ with you.
>>
>>60230667
>productivity
Nigga keep telling yourself you do productivity shit with your pc
>>
>>60230697
I don't. I barely touch my PC these days. But many others may do. And even if they don't, the ryzen is still a better choice overall.
>>
>Intel release (k)-series CPUs with unlocked multipliers and baseclocks
>Users report excessively high temps on overclocks
>"OY VEY GOYIM SHUT IT DOWN, THE 7700K WAS NEVER MEANT FOR OVERCLOCKING!!"

4790k owner, last of the good Intel CPUs since Sandy Bridge, how the fuck are intel allowed to pull this shit?
>>
>>60230667
>muh cores

if you're so productive (you actually make money) and need 8 cores for multitasking, why not get two PCs with i7 7700ks?

AMD btfo once again
>>
>>60230549
Is that the disgusting bitch that licks donuts in the store then puts them back?
>>
>>60230792
Not the guy your shitposting too, but for the same money spent on 2x4 core 7700K, he could buy 2x1600x and have 4 more cores and 8 more threads, for LESS..
>>
for inte its productive only when you use 4 cores

anything above this is fake and gay and probably in the real of fantasy
>>
>>60230842
>muh cores
>more cores=better computer speed!

if he doesn't care about the performance of those cores or threads he could just get a couple dozen old windows 95 PCs for $5 each then he'd have 24 cores.

Yeah and render a 4k video by 2022, nice one Shlomo.

>better computer speed!

Speed is not the factor here, it's productivity through multithreading, but we both know you're here to shill and shitpost.

The topic by the OP is the 7700k overheating, but you got assblasted in a valid point and turned it into a /v/ thread, off you fuck.

This is a load of shit and anyone knows it.

/g is like wikipedia in the regard that any article on wikipedia can eventually lead you to hitler. every thread on /g can lead into an anti-amd thread.

on-topic, i love intel's response
>We do not recommend running outside the processor specifications, such as by exceeding processor frequency or voltage specifications.
>Despite everything being "normal," Intel is advising owners not to overclock their i7-7700K processors. Yes, the ones with unlocked multipliers that are meant to be overclocked.
>Unsurprisingly, users aren’t happy with Intel’s findings. “3 months waiting for Intel to come out with a solution , and now this ?! This is all you can say ?! We know already what you've just said .. You know what never mind this would be my last product from Intel,” wrote forum member Meedy.
>But Intel’s line that there’s nothing at all wrong with the chips and that people really shouldn’t overclock them is making for some very unhappy customers.
charge users extra to overclock their processors. then turn around and tell them not to overclock their processors they charged extra for because intel told them they can overclock their processors if they pay more money. makes sense.

except clock for clock, AMD matches Intel's IPC now
>>
>>60231113
shhhh dont let them know the truth they are going to create even more anti amd thread..

Ryzen is even better than Intel now, but is held back by missing (or not easily obtainable) optimization.

>The AMD can execute six micro-ops per clock while Intel can do only four. But there is a problem with doing so many operations per clock cycle. It is not possible to do two instructions simultaneously if the second instruction depends on the result of the first instruction, of course. The high throughput of the processor puts an increased burden on the programmer and the compiler to avoid long dependency chains. The maximum throughput can only be obtained if there are many independent instructions that can be executed simultaneously.

If games start taking advantage of this, it could be a pretty big boost. I think it's highly dependent on the workload, though.
>>
>>60230802
No, this is the alien-engineered mutant that used to be a hacker but the writers kinda forgot about that so now she just makes earthquakes or something.
>>
>>60230549
Well yeah, that's what intel did themselves.

That's basically what the 7th generation is. Overclocked 6th generation with some additional hardware video decoders.
>>
>>60230802

>>60230549
Delid this!
>>
>>60230549
Just get an AMD, then you don't need to worry about overclocking...
>>
AMD fags are just mad that Intel can run at 90*C whilst using so little power, AMD fags have to pay out the ass in electricity to create their house fires.

Mine over clocks great with a cheap air cooler. Reeven justice, it was like 45 bucks. Im at 1.118V 4.8ghz, going slow for stabilities sake. ,70s under load

I think this intel statement us aimed at the one touch over clock shit that dumps things up to 1.5v at the drop of a hat
>>

Muh productivity

Lol maybe when
you start using your comp to make money you won't parrot stupid shit
>>

You need at least 12 kiddo.
>>
>>60231011
The "gains" in ", productivity" via your magic multithread is fucking negligible in 99% of use cases its not even worth considering unless your the one percent

Fast single thread perf is still king in getting shit done
>>
That guy's back again.
>>
>>60230792
Because then my house would burn down twice as fast.
>>
>>60233369
In which case you should just get G4560 and forget about spending more than $100 on a CPU.

If by "getting shit done" you mean "loading bloated web 3.0 sites" yeah, sure, it's amazing.

So you can run it on 5ghz provided you throw out your warranty and risk breaking the cpu by physically disassembling it. gotcha.
