Hi guys. I'm new to Linux. Do you know where I go from here? My username doesn't work.

Try using Linux.
>>60224692
Just do
rm -rf --no-preserve-root "/mnt/c"
>>60224721
yeah dude, those registry tweaks are totally unnecessary. Preserving doesn't slow down like it did in win8, sort of like ZFS.

login as root
check if your user actually existgrep yourusername /etc/passwd
if there is nothing printed
create useruseradd -m yourusername
set your passwordpasswd yourusername
You are not using linux. Shitty port of gnu tools without actual linux kernel doesn't deserve to be called linux.

You are using Windows.
Try to 'groupadd' whatever you blanked out that was expected after creating the user and run the whole command that returned error code 6.

This works, but it does screw up some dependencies which you can easily fix with apt -f install.

Or as I like to call it Microsoft + Linux

Are you on an old version of Windows?
Installing bash on Windows after the creators update doesn't look like that at all.
Also, this guide tells you how to get X and sound working.

Ignore the dbus and sudo fix. They're old and were fixed a long time ago.
