I don't see any difference other than you were wasting ``your powerful money'' to do the same thing you did while you were ``Poor". The issue is you are still poor, and probably will always be poor, irregardless of the amount of ``Money'' you have.

So you gave up and traded self sufficiency for convenience.

You are become norman.

No, I grew up. I still run Lienoox on my laptop, and know my way around the CL, but honestly, I'm not in that field, so I've got no real need to be a sperg like that.

Fuck Apple and their closed garden of faggotry.
Also, streaming is low quality as fuck. Flac's where it's at.
>>
>>60216323

Okay, yes, I overreacted. I have used mac, and I know it's not all a closed garden. If Apple had their way it would be though. The main reason they piss me off is that they ride on loyalty and hype without actually providing anything better.
>>
>>60215772
Middle class starts at $250k per annum.

So yeah, he still poor.
>>
>>60216356
I just don't agree that it's better. I have used Windows, MacOS, and plenty of versions of Linux, and you know what. Yeah, MacOS looks pretty, but it sure as hell doesn't work better. I have two main computers I use right now. A Mac for school (getting rid of it later this year, thank god), and my main desktop with Windows. I used to have another shit tier computer for linux, but it died (hardware...) and now I am going to install it on an old laptop I got off a friend.

How the hell is it ahead. I'll agree that Windows isn't better, I just won't say it's worse. Linux is the best if your software works with it, but I just can't use it as my daily driver for that reason. I also hate touchpads, if that makes a difference.
>>

>anyone who knows anything uses a macbook
Shitty hardware, especially for the price. Feel free to purchase a 100 dollar t-shirt while you're at it.
>>
>>60216447
Yeah, that seems a little off. 60k/year isn't bad if you're single and live outside the city, but it's not much money. Period. Then again, the middle class isn't what it used to be.
>>
You know something's wrong when you can't find a single linux distro that will like your GPU, but hackintosh will take it no problem

Also fullscreen side by side windows, I can't really find any alternatives that make it as easy as holding one button.
>>
>>60216493
You clearly don't know how to install Linux. That or you have no idea what a driver is.
>>
>>60216290
Fuck off with your pasta.

Your next line is:
>no counter arguments
>>
>>60216503
geez, I guess if I get smarter, AMD will finally release decent AMDGPU drivers for GCN 1.0 cards. That really oughta do it.
>>
>>60216508
No one has counter arguments for him, though. He makes a good fucking point (a lot, actually).
>>
>>60215585
>60k a year
>appreciable money
You've literally just entered "I'm not a complete fuckup" territory.

This is the delusion of wannabe normies on /g/. They think that by spending above your means (and at 60k, you have better shit to spend your money on) you're more likely to attract women and be socially successful.

Following that strategy, you'll scrape the bottom of the barrel, at best.
>>
>>60216532
That's AMDs fault. AMD is a shitty company right now. They should be better, but they just don't give a fuck anymore. This isn't to say Nvidia is better, I just think AMD has been dropping the ball over and over and over again.
>>
>>60216508
No counter argume-

H-How did you...
>>
>>60216559
Didn't say it did. Just pissed at AMD for their bullshit. Do they want to give Nvidia more market share? All brand loyalty does is kill competition and innovation. It's bad for the consumer to stick with a company just because they are loyal.
>>
>Be poorfag
>Do poorfag things and care about privacy

>Make decent money
>No longer care
>>
>>60216600
I know, that's my point. I'm not supporting AMD. My previous post was poorly worded, I was getting at apple again. They work on brand loyalty, and their business model involves pulling you into their ecosystem.

Right now, Nvidia is better, and has better support. I have an Nvidia GPU. As soon as that changes, I will switch. Same with my CPU. Same with my phone.
>>
>>60216536
No, several are pointed out. Then another thread pops up, no one responds because it's the same shit again, and it's the same "no counterargument" bullshit. Get the fuck out of my face.

I mean look at this for instance:

>OSX is a steaming pile of shit with horrendous battery management

How does one come up with this kind of bait?
>>
>>60216607
No one cares about privacy, because, you know.... You have to keep everyone in the loop. You don't want to exclude google, do you? Last thing you would want is to hurt anyones precious feelings by not sharing all of your fucking life's data with them. Fuck this.
>>
>>60216658
Your argument is that it's a better service. I use apple on a daily basis because I have to. I don't hate it, I just don't think it's better. If all you want to do is word processing, fine. Just so long as you don't care about throwing your money away, be my guest. I just think it's worse value, and I don't see the benefits. Again, I use both windows and mac every day.
>>
>was poor ten years ago
>shitty job with shitty pay
>pirated everything

>do pretty well now
>still pirate everything
I enjoy the hunt for free sources for some of this stuff more than I enjoy the media itself.
>>
>>60216632
I use what works. I can spend my entire life blaming AMD and it won't change unless I decide to spend money on new hardware or take the initiative and use different software that gives me no issues. One of em's cheaper and honestly, not at all that different. Nothing I would need to do that I can't do on macOS.
>>
i earn more than you and i'm sorry to say that you have just become consumer whore. it is so typical for people who got socialy promoted one way or another.
>>
>>60216647
>OSX is a steaming pile of shit with horrendous battery management
You got "us" there. That's wrong. Mac has great battery life when you aren't doing anything. So does an equivalent windows laptop.... Don't but a fucking workstation if you want battery life.
>>
>>60216721
I'm not saying you should buy anything new. Also not saying you should switch operating systems, especially if it's a hackintosh. Of course you shouldn't waste money if you have to. Even if you make "60k/year" (clearly a ton of money, btw). That was never my point. I hate apple as a company, I don't hate their software, I don't even hate their hardware (which isn't the best, by the way, although you will have to pay just as much if not more for better). I just hate the company.
>>
>>60216750
I still don't understand why people buy laptops for things that should be done on desktops.

Also I wish, I really, really wish that my X220 got good battery life on linux. I'm using hackintosh on it instead and one of the reasons is precisely that.

And yeah, essentially doing the exact same stuff on both.
>>
>>60216687
>I enjoy the hunt for free sources for some of this stuff more than I enjoy the media itself.

This. I don't even want any media any more, but If I have to find something I will search for hours if need be.
>>
>>60216812
Portability. I used to travel constantly, so I bought a gaming laptop. Overpriced as fuck compared to a desktop, but I sure as shit wasn't carrying a beast rig onto a plane.
Same principle applies to video editors, animators, and other professionals. For a lot of the top tier stuff though, Mac just doesn't have the hardware you need.
>>
>>60216861
>a gaming laptop

muh sides
>>
>>60216861
I can't really see the point on a gaming laptop. Most games that would require such hardware usually benefit from having a decent mouse and keyboard configuration, something lacking on laptops if you can find yourself a random table to put that nice mouse there. Otherwise most games that only utilize the keyboard run well on toasters anyways.

You're right about video edition and such, but that's the thing: macOS has plenty of decent software for that, kinda lacking on Windows and definitely mostly either not available on Linux/pretty poor alternatives.
>>
>>60216818
Especially porn. I could just pay for a 3 day trial and get the video I want but it's more fun to scour obscure torrent sites.
>>
>>60216992
Because I have taste and like to know the porn I like will still be around when I need it. I can't fap to just anything.
>>
>>60216907
>>60216974
Long story short, yeah, I would bring that fucking behemoth onto planes, and I would bring a proper mouse and mousepad. The keyboards on MSI computers are surprisingly nice. Not mech, but as good as you're going to get on a laptop. The point wasn't to use it on the go. The point was to bring something with you for when you are bored in a hotel room for a week with nothing much else to do.
For most people, getting a gaming laptop is a waste of money on an inferior product. That's not a concession, it's a fact. I also hate touchpads. Period. I repeat. The main reason I hate my mac is that I usually use it with a touchpad. I also hate its keyboard, but that's not my point here.

My only point is that gaming laptops are catching up with the hardware (if not the price) so if you are like I was, and spend a lot of time away from home it might be worth it.
>>
>>60217129
>random shitpost
How so?
>>
>>60217107

Well I have to admit liking the MSI laptops.

I also thing an external GPU would be bitchin, but I have no attention span for gaming any longer.
>>
>>60217149
I was going to complain about the external GPU. But the problem is that it's for a totally different purpose. If you want something more like a razer laptop that can actually be portable and have good battery life, but want to game like a baller at home, you can fork out the extra cash for something like that. I would rather just have two computers at that point though...
>>
>>60217196

Well it's a moot point for me anyway because merely the thought of leaving my home is incapacitating.

Have you tried software like bettertouchtool? I wouldn't really like the trackpad either if I wasn't able to do pretty much everything I needed quickly with the thing. It's never as accurate as a mouse is, but it can be set to have more functionality.

I like the idea of being able to bring pretty much your main computer everywhere but yeah, unless you're stuck traveling from place to place a normal one would suffice.

Nigga I personally am not in the field of IT. I got a 2009 eMachines laptop running Kali for S&G with i3 so that my work (translation) runs nicely side by side and so that I don't have to fuck with it. I have 0$ to pay every month (student living in family home with parents and sister) so all the money I earn goes into saving for the future.

I may earn less (not a wagecuck), but I certainly have more money than you.
