It's 4TB so it's obviously for media hoarding. 5400rpm is fine if he's not going to be muxing/indexing his movies, only watching them. It's even sorta fine if he is.

I don't see any reviews complaining about spin down issues. That's about the only thing that would give you performance problems.

I figured if a drives gonna fail it's destine to fail I've heard about toshiba drives but this ones pretty cheap for 5 tb
