I legit have no idea how to social media. Is there like a guide on Facebook etiquette or something? The most I've ever done was text and chat on MSN messenger.
Really only two things to know: KISS and don't be cringey. Put up a nice professional photo of you for your avi, maybe add some accomplishments and interests and stuff. You don't have to post a bunch of irrelevant shit, maybe a few pictures of you, your family, friends, gf, etc.
Just please don't get cancer and start thinking other people care about your opinions. Because they don't. Do those things and you'll be straight.

Just be professional and don't post anything hateful or misogynistic. If you comment on photos, do not say anything about a woman's age of appearance. Don't get into arguments. Be civil and don't say anything homophobic.

Good, then be above it and save yourself from an invasive time sink.

Right here OP: https://stallman.org/facebook.html
I'm 35 and began at age 17 on IRC.
What the fuck is this Facebook everyone is talking about ?
Jokes aside, I completely skipped the social media / smartphone waves, besides being a software engineer in tech companies (such as VoIP or Settop boxes).
Lately we're being asked to include "muh social media" in our products and using Android, I find myself struggling with things youngsters or even less tech-savvy engineers are already familiar with.
Does anybody else know those feels?

Yeah, I know how it feels to be a pretentious faggot dealing with illusory superiority.

No intention to pose as a pretentious faggot, for me it's all those iPhone-waving boys with their phone always stuck in their hand, who can't raise their head to talk to you when they're supposed to take a coffee with you or eating out.
It just didn't interest me at one point, it never stuck and now I feel like if I'm in the wheelbarrow with old crusts coding Cobol.
