So I just got the IP of someone who got banned from /g/ in October 2016. I didn't even own this phone back then.
I wonder how high the odds are. How often does it happen to you?
Also isn't plain IP ban outdated? What could you use for more efficient banning in a not authenticated web environment
banning is outdated. We should promote free speech
>Also isn't plain IP ban outdated?
It's easy to bypass but it's still good enough since 99% don't know how to bypass it
>What could you use for more efficient banning in a not authenticated web environment
Not telling you Hiro :^)
banning all phoneposters would solve most problems

well in my country my mobile provider has about 10 different external IPs and about 3/4 of them are banned already

I've had that happen a few times
There's some AT&T phone IP range that is completely banned, it's pretty bad desu senpai

One option would be to open the board up once a year for "sign-ups," where you would get a passcode. Users without passcodes could read but not reply to posts.

Very often and most of it permaban as well.
Thought most of it because it's IP range or VPN/tor exit nod.

Happens to me every few months. Each time I'll salute a fallen comrade and do the same as he: respawn with a new IP
