Pretty much. Every non-C-tard statically typed language nowadays has at least basic type inference or full-on Hindley-Milner. But it wouldn't be C without pointless boilerplate.

Java is ridiculously verbose, it doesn't even have an auto/var keyword. The closest you can get is <> but that barely matters because Java generics have little type safety.
