Fuck chromebooks. They have built in botnet and afaik you can't properly install linux (there was a half assed solution though).

I'd rather buy one of the newer netbooks if you are going this cheap. The processors are crap but still better than a tablet.
Toshiba has some interesting models but expect a crappy screen.

Chromebooks are shit. They're locked down Google botnet machines. Clean installing Linux is more of a hassle than it's worth. Don't bother.
