Is Android any good today? Does anybody use it besides Indians?
Had a phone years ago and the stupid shit kept crashing. I need an upgrade from my iPhone 4.

This gonna be a great thread man.
It's decent, just pick a phone that has stock/near stock android. Like something from Nexus/Pixel range or Motorola's stuff. Or some Chinese stuff like Xiaomi/Oneplus and flash it.

Android is still pretty bad. Still buggy and poor quality apps, etc. Just buy another iPhone. The iPhones have dropped in quality too imo but still miles ahead of Android.
Just bought my mom a 6s, its great for typical use.

In what kind of remote area do you live that you don't see Android smartphones everywhere?
> Had a phone years ago and the stupid shit kept crashing. I need an upgrade from my iPhone 4.
So buy one that isn't shit.
You should have done that years ago, with both the phones we now know about.

Any $150+ android phone made in the last 3 years will be a huge upgrade from iPhone 4.

How is android behind iOS when it's as powerful as desktop computers while iOS is stuck in 2005? iPhones aren't even considered as smartphones anymore.

According to you.

The OS doesn't do anything a dumbphone can't
I can't stand android, dumbphone + Linux tablet masterrace
Every feature on an iPhone was on an Android phone 2 years prior.
So, if you want a comparable smartphone to the latest iPhone, just buy a 2 year old Android phone and save 80% of your money.

Buy a phone supported by Lineage OS on Android 7.1 or later and you'll be fine for 6 years.
Android Phones are great if you know how to use them , Have been using a Zenfone 2 for a year now and its awesome. It's like a little Linux computer.
>CustomOs (rooted)
>Googlesss setup
>Linux Deploy (Debian)
>Termux (by far the best terminal)
>iptools app (for managing my network)
and a lot other useful apps
OP doesn't seem to be an Android kinda of guy
Should stick to iPhone if an Average Smartphone user.
My favourite apps on Android are
Tasker, GLtools, IPtools,Termux, Afwall+, Adaway, Nova Launcher. Firefox with addons.
I'm currently on a LineageOS build.
BrokenOS (dysfunctional ROMs ) are also good - no XDA bullshit there.

if it's cheaper than $100, it's ultimate shit

redpill me about linux tablet, please
wanted to buy something like that for years
Android is pretty good imo I have an s6 and Nova launcher instead of TouchWiz plus Google icon theme iPhones are perfectly ok however they lack sideloading capabilities unless jailbreak, also I think the latest versions of Android 6 and 7 have much better app permission controls..

What do you automate with Tasker?
