>everything /g/ related is help back by battery technology
>we will never have actually good smartphones, laptops and any other tech gadget until someone invents some new ground-breaking battery
W-why haven't we broken this barrier yet?
What's missing?
What's keeping us from unlocking our full gadget potential because of battery problems?

Batteries today are really good. It's just that gadget makers, instead of increasing runtime, decreased the size of the battery.
You could have a smartphone with dumbphone battery life if you made the thing a few millimeters thicker. They won't do that though, because so many normies buy things only on looks.

Thick phones feel like shit. Thin and large is the future, goy.
>>60130635
>there is only one possible outcome of the future
>my smartphone in 2003 had to be charged almost everyday
>my smartphone in 2017 has to be charged almost everyday
Why is this allowed?
Solid state sodium batteries are coming

Can graphene be used to make high capacity batteries for smartphones? Or is this a meme?
>>60130635
Fuck off consumer
>>60130732
Actually, the real promise is in nanocomposites.

Energy density of lithium polymer batteries is already pretty high. Any more than that and you will get unstable batteries that will ignite and in worst case even explode and companies of course don't want this to happen. Maybe there can be done something with super capacitors, but as far as I am aware energy density is lower than Li-po batteries. What will increase battery life are more efficient processors and semiconductor technology in general. Having less software bloat and no botnet also helps. In theory however you could create matter-antimatter battery to get highest possible power density, but I don't think that would be a safest source of power for your devices (or economic one).

Neck yourself dumb nigger.

Neck yourself dumb nigger.

Let me reiterate. Neck yourself dumb nigger.

Because they obviously never made a older one in 2003.
Neck yourself dumb nigger.
It's true though. Smartphones can do all this amazing shit, have almost laptop like hardware, but only for like 3 hours of real use.
I swear no matter how expensive and big a battery you get, after 1 year you will need to charge it twice daily anyways

>look it up
>the previous model was also made in 2004
Neck yourself dumb nigger.

As soon as you hear someone mention graphene you immediately know this person has no knowledge about science and technology other than he go from watching vsauce
t. I have a published paper on graphene oxide supercapacitors
