Is quantum computing a scam? I can't wrap my little brain around the way D Wave computers work?
I watched a few "explanations" of quantum computers, but how the fuck are you supposed to know if the flattened observed qubit is in the right position?
It seems completely random and not useful at all.

>Is quantum computing a scam?
no, quantum computing offers massive speedups on certain statistical algorithms and simulations
>I can't wrap my little brain around the way D Wave computers work
it has been contended whether the D-wave actually completely quantum computers, but it was built using josephson junctions

If you really wanted to learn because you think it's the next big thing, there are ways to effectively simulate a quantum computer

C lib to simulate a quantum computer. Includes an implementation of Shor's algorithm. Obviously not actually practical for solving it since you need so many classical bits to simulate a qubit, but interesting nonetheless.

> Is quantum computing a scam?
No, it's just difficult.
And poorly informed people often think it's a replacement for current CPU/GPU. As far as we know, it's not. It'll only act as special / co-processor. Very fast for some specific tasks, not at all good for others.
> I can't wrap my little brain around the way D Wave computers work?
As opposed to completely understanding a modern computer?

Will it run doom?

No but it will run the witcher 3 on max settings
Quantum computing + AI = God
