Do people actually use firejail? Is it a placebo or would you recommend?

i recommend punching yourself in the dick

Fuck you, faggot.

Anyway, I decided to try it out myself.
It was easy to install and it works virtually out of the box.
I just had to edit something in my home configuration directory to give Firefox access to my pictures and videos folder

But is there any reason to firejail programs that aren't web browsers?
What benefit would I get from firejailing say, Clementine, or Okular?
>>60076464
I use it to create fresh instances of firefox.
There are plenty of built-in profiles.
>>60077706
It may protect you from malformed playlists for example.
>>60076464
no need if you have SELinux/AppArmor kernel
>>60076464
Not placebo, it is certainly capable to lock down processes from network access, file access and other stuff.
However it's a SUID binary opening its own potential attack vectors.
>>60078384
firejail makes use of SELinux and AppArmor to further lock processes down.

Yes, I only use it for steam though
