What?

>doesn't do screensaver inhibition
That's DE's job.
>doesn't do decorations around windows that don't use GTK/Qt
That's true. I think we need some universal csd-wrapper for that or what.
>doesn't have an API for hotkeys
Not a fucking display protocol's job.
>doesn't do screen recording
Werks on my machine using recordmydesktop wtf am i doing wrong?
>>60067087
>That's DE's job.
Yes, but the protocol for the application to signal this to the DE (which is Wayland's job) is a draft and not implemented anywhere, because nobody at Wayland decided to review the draft or the weston patches
>Not a fucking display protocol's job.
And yet Wayland stops applications from capturing global keys for "security". Why does it feel like it's its job when it comes to breaking functionality?
>Werks on my machine using recordmydesktop wtf am i doing wrong?
It probably uses a hack in the compositor that is not part of the wayland protocol, as everything useful on wayland is somehow hacked in as an extension because this is X all over again.
Here, let me go on:
>no mouse gesture support because muh security
>unable to disable vsync for lower input latency in games because wayland developers don't want it
>no way to unredirect for fullscreen applications like games
>libinput expose tablet buttons as mouse buttons instead of like keys the X has done it for years because we absolutely must break Krita
>Oy vey goy, use (((x11)))
I want x11 shills to leave.
>>60067824
why would anyone need to shill X11? Chances are you're already using it anyway.
>>60067841
They need to shill it because it's under threat from wayland.
>>60067860
maybe in another 9 years
