I don't run executables from Nigerian princes
>>
>>60049843
yeah, they run just them on your behalf
>>
>>60049833
The real question is how did Microsoft get it so wrong. UAC takes upwards of a full minute to load, sudo takes less than a second.
>>
>>60049857
But it's not on the internet
>>
>>60049833
security features are pointless on an OS that's insecure from top to bottom and where the security - when it works - doesn't secure anything noteworthy.

at least on linux it's somewhat useful when done well

HOLY SHIT YOUR COMPUTER SUCKS

How old is your PC?

My computer is shit. But that's beside the point. If a fucking PASSWORD PROMPT can EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES take THAT FUCKING LONG, it's bloatware.
>>

You might want to re-evaluate your understanding if you think the only thing going on is a password prompt. And that's beside the point, even. Something is wrong with your system.

I've got an Athlon 64 system with a 5400rpm drive that has zero issue with UAC.

I know it also has to freeze up background programs. But that's a completely useless extra feature that does nothing but slow it down if you don't have malware. And if you do have malware, it's too late, seizing administrative control won't save you.
>>
I need to work on Windows and UAC is fucking annoying, I don't run weird executables tho.
>>
because 3 reasons:
1. It's annoying to fuck around with UAC whenever you need to install something, mage a change in the registry, etc
2. a user account doesn't really protect my personal files, only the system. and i don't care about system, my files are important
3. i don't need it. i've been suing computers long enough to protect myself from bad things
