i live on a 15th floor. can i use a big antenna so i can connect to my network when i'm on the ground floor?
i've read that my cellphone is not going to be able to send signals to my router because it doesn't have a big antenna. now, can't i connect a big antenna to my router that listens for signals very far away?

wifi waves can go through any material. If the connection is bad its because the source is to weak

I highly doubt it. Wifi signals aren't very good with going through concrete, let alone 15 layers of it. No matter how big the antennas are you're still limited by the fact that you're 15 floors up and that your access point can only transmit a certain amount of power. Imagine screaming. Now using a big cone to scream through, it gets louder but you're only limited to how loud you can scream.

Oh yeah, in that case you can probably get away with using a parabolic antenna setup. Give it a google
