Is eurorack /g/? Do you guys have modulars? Pic related is the current version of my planned eurorack setup.

I don't modular because it's really inefficient for the time. I just use cv between stuff for mostly envelope shaping. Been looking at getting a mother32 and system500 just to have something available though, plus they would fit pretty well into everything cv capable already. I still think big modulars are a meme though.

What is a big modular for you? 9U and upwards?
>>60036207
Eh, difficult to say there's a specific size. I would put it down to functionality. There's some modules that seem generally useful by themselves, like I'd be fine with a bunch of extra processing tools such as the Intellijel Rainmaker or other "unique" effects units that have modular inputs. Not totally sold on getting things like a half dozen filters. basic vco units, simple routing modules, or sequencers though. It would definitely make things more accessible to use, but not knowing if I'll get something I like out of an afternoon can be both frustrating and scary at times. I have a decent selection of outboard gear already, so I'm probably biased.

I'd love to build a modular synth, but it would be such an expensive hobby
>>60035893
I design that shit
>>60036705
Ethernet?
>>60036207
It's the same idea of guitar pedals, "too big" is when you stop patching and using one
>>60036705
That's not a synthesizer though
I mean shit, an oscillator connected to a battery is more of a synth than that or even what those inputs imply
Seems like a big waste of money when you consider how much an eurorack version of any decent semi/non-modular analog synth would cost.
But I have a nord micro modular if that counts lel.
just buy bazille for a quarter of the cost of a single module

Just use jeskola buzz for free!
>>60037043
It it a synthesizer now since it produces 440 Hz and 880 Hz sine outputs for debug purposes lol
>>60037105
>tfw too dumb to use jeskola buzz
>>60037140
Haven't really dived in yet but I intend to give it a serious effort one day, it looks very fascinating.

I would build one, if it weren't for my crippling depression.

A modular synth will reinvigorate your life
