apple probably gets enough info from people with iphones and ipads and shit that sign into their accounts on the mac and sync up and stuff. microsoft has to push it harder, 'cause not everyone is walking around with a windows phone.

Macs are hardware. How is it obvious that OS X is a bigger dataminer? Windows 10 is the blantantly obvious datamine. After its release Microsoft had some image about it stating that people have spent X hours playing games, viewesd Y number of photos, etc. How do you think they got those statistics?
