Hey /g/,
Just got this refurb LCD, and it has what looks like "bruised" pixels (for want of a better term). Is this fixable, or do I just have to live with it?
You're stuck with them, sadly.

Holy fuck. You've got one of the original unices. Enjoy that shell, anon.
LCD backlight film is stuck to the rest of the screen components
Put an ice cube in a Ziploc bag and slowly rub it over the dark spots
That will clear them up for the most part, not all the way but it will be near unnoticeable unless you really look for them

Ah well.
Yeah, I bought the monitor because it can handle pretty much ANY resolution or refresh rate. Including what my RS/6000 wants. This is the first time I've gotten it to work on a display. Previously I had to use it over serial console only.

Also played with this. No HDD though, and one of the banks of RAM is bad. Going to put SunOS on it once I get it running.

Thanks! I'll give it a try.

It's an HP L2035
It has DVI/VGA/Component/S-Video inputs
It can automatically do:
1280 x 1024 @ 60 Hz, 75 Hz, 85 Hz
1280 x 960 @ 60 Hz
1152 x 900 @ 66 Hz
1024 x 768 @ 60 Hz, 75 Hz, 85 Hz
800 x 600 @ 60 Hz, 85 Hz
640 x 480 @ 60 Hz, 75 Hz, 85 Hz
Text Mode:
720 x 400 @ 70 Hz
Sun/Mac Mode:
1152 x 870 @ 75 Hz and 832 x 624 @ 75 Hz
And it has manual adjust in case it's non-standard. Pretty sweet.
