I am using a Vive USB controller charger connected to my PC to charge different device
I am aware that charging a battery with different voltage and/or current can potentially do damage to it.
I am wondering how different the voltages or current can be with what appears to be a simple USB to micro USB cable.
I am fairly certain the batteries for both devices are somewhere around 3-3.3v, but have no idea about any other details.
What can I expect the damage to be with something like this?
dropping from usb to microusb doubles the voltage because the wider pin is funneling down to a smaller pin, extended use could blow up your controller or fry your motherboard. You need to use an authorized cable that has the correct copper balance to give proper voltage.
