I already had a Surface Pro 3. The piece of shit couldn't properly update and put itself into an auto repair loop, then when I booted it through an ISO image to get it up and running but chugged dicks when the March 2017 updates rolled in, and crashed again. It's a brick now. If I don't want to waste $980 on a tablet that got fucked hard by Windows 10, I won't spend three times that on a pc running the same OS in the same product line.

When you think about it Wacom will always be a better buy. Yes it might be only a monitor, but remember this is a pen display which will last you over a decade. While Surface Studio is a AIO pc which will eventually slow down by its locked down hardware.

Not really, basically any textured led drawing pad will feel better (and generally Wacom pen systems feel more fluid and accurate than n-trig brand ones)
The screen is nice, but it's not a drawing screen, it's a good display with a generic digitizer tacked on at the end

Over time the color on the wacom will go south, and won't keep it's, honestly pathetic for a pro monitor adobe rgb scale.

If you want art + monitor, this is hardly a bad computer, by the time the monitor will show its age in color correctness the computer would also need replacing too, and lets be honest, 4500x3000 is so far ahead of wacom its not even funny, so doing small details feel better but for my money...

I would go a monoprice penable display and buy a second 100% adobe rgb for 1000~% and mirror the displays. I may not have perfect color in front of me, but I have it to the side, a minor inconvenience all things considered.
