you can sometimes find sandy/ivy bridge mobos/cpu combos for about $100-150 odd on ebay but the rest of it is going to cost you, ram is never cheap, used psus are a deathtrap and never a good idea, cases are expensive as fuck to ship etc

(as far as individual components go, motherboards are far more rare than cpus because they tend to die first and you have socket/chipset considerations, it's easy to find a sandy/ivy bridge mobo/cpu on an overclocking chipset for instance but if you just want the mobo alone you'll pay about the same anyway)

used small form factor/thin client thinkcentres are common as hell for more modern cpus but they have the same problem, shit chipsets intended for office drones

you don't have to go that far, it's usually an issue of resolution not date the games were made

next to nobody was gaming on 1080p in 2006-2007 for instance but plenty of computers from that era will handle modern games in 720p ish

get some used AMD APU and fm2+ board and fast ddr4

You don't even need to go with everything used
