Is my monitor dying?
Never had a single problem and out of nowhere this happened, there's a shadow on half screen and everything is darker.
The monitor must be something like 5 years old?
I turned it off and on and it was fine again but when i did it again it went darker.

I have the same issue with one of my old Acer monitors ($99 brand new like 7 years ago, lol.) Buy a new one or put up with it. It'll keep dying, turning the monitor on/off may kick it back on but it'll progressively get worse and worse.
